Throughout the year, we at RealStars Stockholm have visited high schools across the county to hold lectures and workshops on the theme of “Why ‘sex’ cannot be bought.” This initiative is supported by HM Queen Silvia’s foundation Care About the Children. The response has been fantastic – over 60 school visits have been booked, giving us the opportunity to meet nearly 4,000 students. Furthermore, more than 90% of the students who have already participated in the educational efforts report that they have gained new and important knowledge.
Discussing Fair sex – sex on equal terms, abuse, and rights related to one’s own body cannot happen just once or in one way. In the updated curriculum, we now have the subject “Sexuality, consent, and relationships,” which means that consent and sexuality will be addressed in an interdisciplinary and continuous manner.
To encourage all high schools in Stockholm County to start and continue this important work, RealStars, in collaboration with HM Queen Silvia’s foundation Care About the Children, is launching a school campaign where we will crown Stockholm’s best Fair Sex school.
To compete, please follow these steps:
- Plan Fair Sex activities for your students throughout the year: Tips for activities.
- Download the document for reporting activities – feel free to inform us of your participation by emailing malin.saflund@realstars.eu.
- Fill in all the activities you have carried out during the year in the document (completed and planned activities from January – December 2023).
- Email the document to malin.saflund@realstars.eu by November 10th at the latest.
The three schools whose efforts have been the most extensive will be invited to an event on November 25th, where, in addition to crowning the winner, artwork from students based on the concept of Creativity for Fair Sex will be exhibited. The school that has excelled the most in Fair Sex in 2023 will receive a diploma signed by RealStars and HM Queen Silvia’s foundation Care About the Children.
