RealStars Stockholm is thrilled to be back in high schools with lectures and workshops after the summer break. This autumn, we have several exciting visits planned at schools across the Stockholm region.
We kicked off with a full day at Psykologigymnasiet in Solna, where we engaged with first- and third-year students enrolled in the social science program, specializing in behavioral science and criminology. Each session began with a lecture, introducing students to topics such as Fair Sex, sexual exploitation, its root causes, and practical steps to take if they or someone they know is affected or involved in such situations. The day continued with creative workshops where students reflected on these topics by designing posters. These creations were later displayed at the school, allowing students to share their insights and perspectives through their work.
This approach of encouraging students to explore their values and apply newly acquired knowledge is a successful concept of RealStars’ “Creativity for Fair Sex” initiative. The creative process not only deepens understanding but also fosters a safe space for dialogue, where students can openly discuss their thoughts, emotions, and values. Together with their peers, teachers, and RealStars facilitators, they engage in meaningful conversations that enhance both learning and reflection.
During their school visits, RealStars has found that many students’ views on prostitution are influenced by widespread myths — for example, that prostitution is simply another form of work, that it is entirely voluntary, or that it involves consenting adults and is therefore acceptable. Challenging and debunking these misconceptions is essential, requiring ongoing efforts rather than one-time discussions. One effective approach is creating posters that remain on display, encouraging continued dialogue and reflection on these critical issues as part of the learning process.
At Psykologigymnasiet, we had the pleasure of welcoming Thérèse von Blixen-Finecke from H.M. Queen Silvia’s foundation, Care About the Children (CATCH), which is sponsoring this year’s school visits. She participated in the lecture, explored the students’ creative projects, and attended the subsequent exhibition. Her positive feedback highlighted the value of this initiative. It was incredibly gratifying to showcase how CATCH’s support empowers RealStars Stockholm to create a meaningful impact.
