Introduction of New Intern – Louise

Hello!

My name is Louise Palm, and this fall I will be interning at RealStars. I am in my final year of my bachelor’s degree in investigative criminology, and I am very much looking forward to spending this upcoming time working towards a world free from trafficking.

I applied to RealStars because I want to broaden my knowledge regarding important social issues such as men’s violence against women and trafficking. In 2019, I was also a volunteer for RealStars, primarily working with social media, and since then I have kept the organization in my thoughts. I am so happy to have the opportunity to come back and continue the fight!

During my internship, I will be working on planning for the book fair in Gothenburg, which feels very exciting. We will particularly focus our efforts on the book lottery. I believe I will learn a lot about conducting projects and about the current societal situation regarding sexual exploitation in Sweden. In the future during my internship, I will also participate in workshops and lectures at schools regarding Fair Sex, as well as write a blog post about a trial concerning charges of “purchase of sexual services.” In the post, I will reflect on the trial’s process, the terminology, and the outcome. Time permitting, I will also explore how Sweden can improve the implementation of the sex purchase law.

I am eager to see what this internship will bring and look forward to becoming more engaged. I believe that RealStars is doing important work in driving the fight forward, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
